Utilities & Revenue Protection

Successful REVENUE PROTECTION requires the implementation of quality, uniquely numbered and secure seals. The dated sealing method of lead seals and wire is still used by some utilities, municipalities and associated service providers. Although very cost effective, the ineffectiveness of this method of sealing is commonly known and the global aversion to lead is also not unknown. Lead seals are generic, ie are not uniquely numbered and the use of the pliers can be compromised. A false sense of security is created when a seal can be manipulated without any visible detection thereof, and lead seals are particularly vulnerable to this. The same goes for the method of using a wire strand secured with a ferule. The same deficiency presents itself, no unique numbering for control and auditing purposes.

Our range includes mechanical seals and self adhesive security seals, specifically designed for utility meters and are successfully being supplied to a number of international and local utilities and municipalities. Innovative, user-friendly, weather resistant, safe (withstanding the glow-wire test), secure and cost effective – critical factors which will proactively help reduce and manage the risk of utility theft.

SMART METERS MAY BE ‘SMART’ BUT THEY STILL REQUIRE SEALS TO DETER TAMPERING
